Welcome to Students in Service
Raising Multicultural Kids is proud to present Students in Service (SIS), a youth-led service-learning initiative dedicated to cultivating the next generation of compassionate, community-minded leaders. Through this program, students take the lead in addressing real-world challenges, fostering personal growth, and creating a positive ripple effect across their communities.
Our History: Honoring the Legacy of Service
The Students in Service program has a rich history rooted in the work of Multiplying Good, a renowned national organization whose mission for over many years was to foster civic engagement and youth leadership. Originally launched as Students in Action, this impactful program ran for over 15 years, inspiring thousands of young people to engage in community service, develop leadership skills, and create positive change across the nation.
Multiplying Good ceased operations in Massachusetts at the end of the 2023-2024 school year, leaving a legacy of community impact and empowered youth leaders. Recognizing the program’s immense value, Raising Multicultural Kids stepped in to sponsor and continue its mission under the new name Students in Service. While the name has evolved, the core values and goals remain the same: to empower youth to lead, serve, and inspire positive change in their communities.
Under the guidance of Raising Multicultural Kids, Students in Service honors the original spirit of Multiplying Good, building on its proven approach to service-learning and leadership development. We are proud to carry forward this tradition, fostering the next generation of diverse, community-focused leaders who are ready to make a difference.

The Students in Service Experience
Through Students in Service, youth teams create impactful projects in key areas such as hunger relief, mental health, environmental conservation, and social justice. Students engage in every stage of the service process—from investigating community needs to executing high-quality projects, reflecting on their impact, and celebrating successes.
Our program operates in schools and community organizations, nationwide, and is guided by dedicated advisors who support and mentor students. Each year, participants gather at conferences, share their projects with the community at our Public Service Pitch Day, and celebrate their accomplishments with fellow youth leaders.
